Chinese

Chinese,
a language of my race,
at which I'm slowly learning to appreciate.
It is actually rather fascinating
and my reluctance has slowly changed
to an eagerness
to learn more
to read more.
I'm proud to be a Chinese.

Cycling, Casualty, Czech

Went to East Coast Park on Saturday for cycling. It was really nice to just cycle and relax. It really is good to get out in the sun for a while and feel the wind. I love it. All was well until I collided into my brother in the last 10 min before we returned our bicycles. My right palm, right knee and right elbow was grazed. It was quite sudden and I think I felt like I was thrown out of the bicycle. My brother suffered no injuries. Surprisingly though I didn't feel any pain until around 5 seconds later when I could feel the burning pain. (Probably my nervous system hasn't reacted yet.) So now, I'm relying on my left hand a lot. I realise that when you "lose" something, you treasure it even more. With the graze on my right hand, I realise how important the hands are. Thank God I didn't graze my fingers, otherwise I would have a lot of difficulty writing for the Chinese paper this Monday.

And since we were in the east, we popped into the violin shops and I tried out the violins. I took a looooong time. Finally, I decided on a Czech made violin. I'm happy with it. Now, I've got to season it.

A Long Day

This morning, I wanted to sing the National Anthem and say the pledge...but I couldn't. My voice sounds totally nasal now. Then, I tried but decided to just sing and say in my heart while mouthing the words. The packet of tissue I brought today is still untouched. I think it's all clogged up in my lungs?(Ha ha, I really have to revise bio.)

Professional Guidance Day. That actually sounds interesting. We are suppose to dress up as "professionals" while seeking the advice of real professionals of their fields, like a dentist, for example. Well, I haven't really decided what I want to do yet but am still praying about it. I'm not interested in the mathematics and science fields of career though, more towards language or music.

Chinese was the usual today. The usual dose of compos. I definitely have to improve on my timing. It's too slow. Compos require a lot of thought. As one of my classmates said, the workload seems like killing your brain cells. But I'm still thankful for the practice and though I've a pile of weekend Chinese homework to complete I'm actually surprised to say that I'm grateful for it.

Violins are lovely but violin shopping is hmm... quite difficult and tiring. I consulted several people on how to choose a good violin and researched. How violins are made is just... amazing. So much effort goes to producing a violin. Furthermore, each violin posseses its own unique voice. How cool. I haven't visited Synwin nor Gramercy yet. Hopefully I'll be able to choose a violin soon. One that fits the budget, has good tone quality, loud enough and has a sound which I like.

I really really feel like typing in Chinese but I don't know how to go about doing it. Maybe I should ask my brothers.

Have seen many layouts in the gallery recently which inspired me to do a layout which I've been delaying due to Chinese Intensive. Hope to be able to do it soon.

Second Post

Feels nice typing although I've been used to writing.

Chinese Intensive has been really intense! Writing and writing... It's actually really good practice. With such intensity, I try hard to concentrate. Furthermore, I've the flu now. I think it's the post-exam fatigue. Funny though. I've actually been surrounded by people who have the flu but didn't catch it. I thought my immune system was really good then. But now...:D
At least the faulty faucet's been stopped for now. Thank God for that. Otherwise I would be using at least 3 packets of tissues.

Right, have to practice piano now. Hope Mozart's fine.

First Post

Hello, this is my very very 1st post!
