The innocent voices

Today, I went out with my godparents and god siblings, Leah, Noah and Ruth. The original plan was to go swimming but that was not to be as the sky wasn't friendly today. So, we went to Borders and then ate at Manhattan's fish market, having ice-cream at Swensen's thereafter. It was great being with Leah, Noah and Ruth. Just enjoying their company and playing their games, talking and laughing, folding paper boats, singing... :)

On the way back, in the car, Leah, Noah, my brothers and Ruth... yes Ruth,( though she's only 3 I think) sang the songs they learnt at the recent children's camp held in June. Here's how it sounded.
Though not the most perfect of choirs, or musically in tune, it was a chorus of heart warming voices.

A chorus of voices
singing
in childish, fervent fervour,
in all simplicity.

Their heart-warming
tender voices
so sincere
so full
in the special harmony.

They sing
with joy
and all the air
their lungs can hold.

One can feel
the earnest, simple touch
to their melody

A chorus of voices,
so innocently,
sweetly
angel-like.

Solely, a child's.
That special tone.
Unforgettable.

It was great hearing them sing.
