No, it's not English. It's piecing rhythm, melody, texture and harmonising them. The problem for me is, when I've thought of a nice melody, I've trouble notating it and worse still, I'm adamant on not changing it because I like it. :) Oh well, I still have to compose the accompaniment for the voice.
Oh yes, we tried using the Sibelius program during music lesson. It was extremely troublesome as the program is rather smart. However, I think using the program will probably make your composition look more presentable. I hope that I can get the hang of using it by the time we have to compose the actual one.
Going to have my last violin lesson next week. It'll be a while before I can concentrate fully on brushing up my violin techniques.

The innocent voices
Today, I went out with my godparents and god siblings, Leah, Noah and Ruth. The original plan was to go swimming but that was not to be as the sky wasn't friendly today. So, we went to Borders and then ate at Manhattan's fish market, having ice-cream at Swensen's thereafter. It was great being with Leah, Noah and Ruth. Just enjoying their company and playing their games, talking and laughing, folding paper boats, singing... :)
On the way back, in the car, Leah, Noah, my brothers and Ruth... yes Ruth,( though she's only 3 I think) sang the songs they learnt at the recent children's camp held in June. Here's how it sounded.
Though not the most perfect of choirs, or musically in tune, it was a chorus of heart warming voices.

A chorus of voices
singing
in childish, fervent fervour,
in all simplicity.
Their heart-warming
tender voices
so sincere
so full
in the special harmony.
They sing
with joy
and all the air
their lungs can hold.
One can feel
the earnest, simple touch
to their melody
A chorus of voices,
so innocently,
sweetly
angel-like.
Solely, a child's.
That special tone.
Unforgettable.

The Rain
The torrent,
water
p i t t er pa t t er.
it drips,
drops,
then pours.
It pours.
Then it stops, it stops.
The last puddles linger
to slowly evaporate.
The storm has calmed
and a rainbow has emerged
among the clouds.

Back to school
Well, it's the first day of school and it was quite ok. We changed our seating arrangements and I ended up seating exactly where I seated the during the first term. I was actually rather nervous about the bio test but it's being postponed to this Friday. Chinese oral is also this Friday. My fingers have been itching to do an LO which I've laid off for very long now. Our form teacher also gave us crackers in wrappers that made the crackers look like little traditional Japanese men and women. It's so cute. It's really nice of her to buy this for the class. :) Also, I had this lit assignment today which I think I screwed up. Besides being a tad bit pressurized by seeing fast scribbling almost after 5 min, I think my mind was reacting too slowly. Anyway, the passage was rather interesting to analyse and the 3 periods of EH flew by (surprisingly).
Ok, better go.
Ok, better go.

Poems
Went to Kinokuniya today and read a book that inspired me to write poems. Ok, language really intrigues me. Oh yes, I met my poa teacher on the bus, which reminds me it's back to school soon. It's going to be a roller coaster. By God's grace and strength, I'll be able to hold on tight.

Books
Father Brown definitely beats Sherlock Holmes although Sherlock Holmes originated first. :D I love the way G.K Chesterton writes. So detailed and animated. He paints each character and makes them vividly alive in your imagination. The first two stories have already glued my eyes to the book. I think authors are smart to be able to craft such stories. For me, it's like watching a movie through imagination. Actually, books are better than watching movies, as they're more detailed.
Words, language... beats math any day.
